Elk Ridge Lodge

Description
Elk Ridge Lodge sits on a wooded hillside in San Juan River Village, three full levels of hand-hewn log furniture, vaulted pine ceilings, and enough beds for the whole extended family. A trail behind the house drops straight into the San Juan National Forest, the wraparound deck looks out over a stand of ponderosa pines, and downstairs there's a pool table, foosball, and a second kitchenette with a projector, DVD player, and a movie library deep enough for a full week of rainy afternoons.
  • 6 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, sleeps up to 16 across three levels
  • Private hot tub sunroom and a trail leading straight into the national forest
  • Downstairs game room (pool table, foosball) plus a second kitchenette with projector and DVD library
  • 18 miles to Wolf Creek Ski Area, 7 miles to downtown Pagosa Springs

Location
Tucked into the trees on a quiet hillside in San Juan River Village, Elk Ridge Lodge is close enough to town for a quick supply run and far enough to feel like the mountains.
  • 18 miles to Wolf Creek Ski Area — Colorado's snowiest, most legendary resort
  • 7 miles to downtown Pagosa Springs and the hot springs
  • Surrounded by ponderosa pine forest, with a trail right from the property leading into the San Juan National Forest
  • No river access on-site — the San Juan River is a short drive away, not a doorstep feature

The Space & Sleeping Arrangements
Three levels connected by an interior staircase give every group room to spread out, from the ground-floor bunk room to the top-floor loft.
  • Bedroom 1 (Ground Level): Queen bed, steps from the second kitchenette and game room
  • Bunk Room (Ground Level, at the main entry): 3 bunk beds sleeping 6 on twin mattresses — the favorite with the kids, or the kids at heart
  • Bedroom 3 (Middle Level): Queen bed, private balcony, en suite bath
  • Bedroom 4 (Middle Level): Queen bed
  • Bedroom 5 (Top Level): Queen bed
  • Bedroom 6 (Top Level): Queen bed
  • Loft (Top Level, bonus space): Futon, bean bags, and a TV overlooking the great room below
6 bedrooms, 4.5 baths in total: a full bath and half bath on the ground level, a private en suite with dual sinks plus a second full bath on the middle level, and one more full bath upstairs. Sleeps up to 16.

Kitchen
The middle-level kitchen is the group's home base — Keurig and drip coffee makers, an electric tea kettle, blender, toaster, rice cooker, wine cooler, crockpot, and waffle maker mean breakfast crews and coffee people never have to fight over the counter. The dining table seats the whole crew, with bar seating at the kitchen island for the overflow. Downstairs, a second kitchenette gives large groups a place to split cooking duty or stage snacks for movie night without leaving the game room.

Entertainment
  • Soak in the hot tub sunroom after a day on the mountain, sliding doors open to the trees
  • Rack up a game of pool or foosball in the downstairs game room
  • Settle into the downstairs kitchenette for a movie off the DVD library & projector
  • Sprawl out in the loft with bean bags, a futon, and board games
  • Vaulted wood-beamed great room with a stone fireplace, four couches, and a wall of windows looking into the pines
Elk Ridge Lodge doesn't have A/C — at elevation and shaded by ponderosa pines, it doesn't need it. Evenings cool off naturally, and the house stays comfortable through the summer.

Nearby Activities
  • Wolf Creek Ski Area, 18 miles — Colorado's snowiest resort, legendary for powder
  • Downtown Pagosa Springs and its hot springs, 7 miles away
  • Fourmile Falls Trail and Piedra River Trail for hiking at every skill level
  • Dinner in town at Black Bart's Brunch, Riff Raff on the Rio, Rosie's Pizza, or Sage
There's something here for everyone — all year round.

Policies
  • Pet-friendly — dogs welcome (max 2). A $75 pet fee and $100 refundable deposit apply per pet.
  • No smoking
  • No A/C — the elevation and tree cover keep things comfortable without it
  • A $50 cancellation processing fee applies to all bookings.
