Hearth and Home

OVERVIEW

Some places just feel right the moment you walk in. Hearth and Home has wood plank ceilings, a stone gas fireplace, granite counters in the kitchen, and four bedrooms laid out for a group of ten — the kind of house where someone always ends up staying an extra night. It’s pet-friendly with a fenced backyard, has a private hot tub off the deck, and sits just far enough from town to feel like a getaway without being inconvenient to anything.

This is a family house in the best sense — practical where it needs to be, comfortable everywhere, and genuinely fun for all ages.

  • Sleeps 10 — king primary, two queens, and a dedicated kids’ hangout room with twin trundles
  • Pet-friendly with a fully fenced backyard — dogs feel at home here too
  • Covered deck with gas BBQ, hook-and-ring game, hot tub platform, and gas fire pit
  • Halfway between uptown Pagosa and Hatcher Reservoir — 5 min to town, close to trails and the water

LOCATION

Hearth and Home sits at one of the more convenient addresses in Pagosa Springs. You’re equidistant between uptown and Hatcher Reservoir — meaning restaurants, groceries, and shops are a 5-minute drive, while hiking trails and reservoir access are just as close. Pagosa Hot Springs is 15 minutes away. Wolf Creek Ski Area is 40 minutes up the pass and worth every one of them.

  • 5 min to shopping, dining, and groceries
  • 15 min to Pagosa Hot Springs and downtown
  • 40 min to Wolf Creek Ski Area
  • Close to Hatcher Reservoir — fishing, paddleboarding, and summer fun

SPACE & SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Four bedrooms give everyone their own landing spot without anyone feeling like an afterthought. The primary suite gets the vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, and a private balcony door. The two queen rooms are comfortable and well-furnished, each with their own Smart TV. The fourth room is set up specifically for kids — two twin trundle beds, a TV, bean bag chairs, and enough floor space to make it feel like their own zone.

  • Primary Suite: King bed, vaulted ceiling, balcony door, hardwood floors, ensuite with double vanity and walk-in shower
  • Bedroom 2: Queen bed, Smart TV, ceiling fan
  • Bedroom 3: Queen bed, Smart TV, bright natural light
  • Bedroom 4 (Kids’ Room): Two twin trundles (sleeps 4), Smart TV, bean bag chairs

4 bedrooms / 2 full baths / sleeps up to 10

KITCHEN

The kitchen has wood plank ceilings and granite counters — better bones than you’d expect. It’s fully stocked for group cooking: drip coffee maker and Keurig for whoever’s up first, crockpot, toaster, full appliances, and an ice maker in the fridge. The dining table seats the whole group for meals in.

OUTSIDE

The back deck is covered and set up for the whole group — plenty of seating, a gas BBQ, and a hook-and-ring game mounted to one of the posts for evenings when you don’t feel like going anywhere. Steps lead down to a dedicated hot tub platform, open to the sky. A gas fire pit rounds out the yard. The entire backyard is fenced — great for dogs and kids who need room to move.

INSIDE

The main living room is anchored by a stone gas fireplace and feels built for slow mornings and long evenings. Every bedroom has its own Smart TV, so the main screen isn’t a point of contention. In-unit washer and dryer for longer stays or ski weeks when the gear needs a refresh.

NEARBY

  • Skiing at Wolf Creek — 40 min, world-class terrain
  • Pagosa Hot Springs — 15 min, one of the deepest hot spring pools anywhere
  • Hatcher Reservoir — fishing, paddleboarding, and summer swimming minutes away
  • Hiking: Fourmile Falls, Piedra River Trail, Opal Lake
  • Local dining: Black Barts Brunch, Alley House, Rosie’s Pizzeria
  • Rafting, horseback riding, and hot air balloon rides

POLICIES

Hearth and Home is pet-friendly — dogs welcome (max 2). A $75 pet fee and $100 refundable deposit apply per pet. This home does not have central A/C; Pagosa’s elevation makes for comfortable summers, especially in the evenings, with ceiling fans throughout. No outdoor cameras on the property. A $50 cancellation processing fee applies to all bookings.
